Director Bios

Lance Powell

Lance graduated from Richland High School in 2005. He was involved in the Richland Marching Band and concert band his first year before transitioning to the Colorguard in the spring of 2002. While there he was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Award from the band as well as most spirited. Lance has worked with many high schools including The Colony HS 05-06, Keller HS 05-07, Marcus HS 09, Triton Central HS 09 and currently at Colleyville Heritage HS 06-present. Lance performed with the Black Gold Independent Open Winterguard during 05, 06 and 07 and the Ars Nova Independent Open Winterguard in 09. He also performed with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps during the summer of 04-09; captain from 06-09. Lance is currently finishing his BA in Kinesiology with his secondary study in biology at the University of Texas in Arlington. With an all-level teaching degree, he aspires to work for GCISD and continue to coach the CHHS Colorguard and Winterguard Programs.

Kara Webster
Kara attended Richland High School, graduating in 2005. She participated in the colorguard program beginning in 2001. While there, Kara was awarded outstanding colorguard member and served as co-captain her junior and senior years. Kara was a member of the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps from 2005-2006. There she was awarded rookie of the year in 2005. Kara is currently working on getting her Bachelor's in mathematics and hopes to teach high school level math classes in the near future.   

Blake Dutton

Blake graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 2007. He was actively involved in both the marching band and concert band while at L.D. Bell, and was also a member of the Student Leadership Team during his junior and senior years. Blake has worked with many high schools including Grapevine HS 07-08, Flower Mound HS 08, L.D. Bell HS 08-Present, Keller HS 09-Present, and currently at Colleyville Heritage HS 09-present. Blake performed with the Ars Nova Independent Open Winterguard during 07, 08 and 09 and is currently a member of the  Ars Nova Independent World Winterguard for the 2010 season. He also has performed with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps since the summer of 2007 and we'll be marching his fourth and final season this upcoming summer. Blake is currently working towards his undergraduate degree in Communication Design with his secondary study in marketing at the University of North Texas.
